The Atrahasis is the Akkadian/Babylonian epic of the Great Flood sent by the gods to destroy human life. It contains both a creation myth, explaining how the gods created humankind and an early flood account which was later incorporated into the Epic of Gilgamesh and is also thought to have influenced the biblical flood story.
